But our 'leaders' and politicians, especially over the past thirty years  have severely tarnished the perception
of America's original founders. They did in fact, sacrifice everything, (reputation, money and even lives) so that
the United States of America could be formed....formed into the very best independent democracy (republic)
in all the free world, as a viable and powerful nation. It appears to me that we are permitting 538 men and women, the Presidency and those interminable lobbyists to take this country in the wrong direction. How can we let this
happen? Have we indeed become wimps? Are we in some mystical form of denial about all that is happening
around us? Do you really want America to go the way of Europe and settle into a socialistic state? For all intents
and purposes, it sure looks like that's our current direction.

To be sure, the economic turmoil in which

Racism in America--Where Do We Go From Here?
A Popham Persective.
by BNJ Columnist  Christopher Popham Smith - Boston Massachusetts

Ever since the Portuguese, Spanish and English sea captains began 'importing' black Africans  to the New World, we have been plagued with racism. What a royal mess our ancestors left for us to reconcile and repair. Human slavery---a most dirty business. The Muslims began this 'illegality' as early as the ninth century, and along with the Europeans drained the African continent of its most valuable resource---human beings--- for over a housand years. Slave trading still exists today in various corners of the world, from Africa to the far east.

At every turn, it seems that politicians, pundits and pastors are positing their views, opinions and positions on racism issues. In a world pervaded by racism of every color and texture, not to mention religious prejudice and
moral degradation, we continuously find ourselves immersed in the complexities of verbal and written vitriol, cruel rhetoric and deliberately 'mispoken' hateful remarks. Racism, prejudice and the fear mongering, hate-filled distortions, which keep it company, are in the mind of the racist.

Every one of us, black or white are racist to some degree. Who among us has never contemplated a racist 'feeling' about another human being? We are all guilty. We cannot escape it. It is a given, that not one of us, no matter how politically correct we may espouse to be, are, on some level, racially antagonistic toward some segment of society. It's a sad aspect of our culture, of our upbringing, and sadder still of the power of today's MSM.

The extremes of racism serve no purpose, other than to divide a great nation such as the United States of America, and so we are destroying ourselves and our country from within. Prejudice, intolerance, discrimination, bigotry and hate towards another race permeate the very fabric of our society; morally, politically and religiously. "Why can't we all just get along?", said Rodney King.

Well, the fact is that we do try to get along. Many of us try harder than most, but again we are swayed by the previously mentioned societal and family pressures.
In news reports, blogs and commentaries that I read on a regular basis, racism is conclusively evident. So-called responsible broadcasters and just regular folks blast off with their personal fear mongering, diatribe and hate. One person I know is a resolute racist. He doesn't like anyone who is other than a white, conservative protestant. I cringe and frequently take issue with his crass jokes and remarks.

The pathetic rhetoric of racism is likely never to end. People seem to thrive on its controversy. Those who partake in this divisiveness seem to revel in the maelstrom of bigotry, that they create and perpetuate. It is a problem, that at its very core, is the essence of our inability "...to just get along".

Racism resides with those who choose to participate in its morally offensive agenda, only serving to divide and not repair. For we need to remember, first and foremost, that there is only one race on earth---the human race.

Respectfully submitted,

The President's health care proposal is in sync with the Congressional
2700 pages of dictates, mandates and taxes, which the American people
have been refuting since August of 2009. It creates an exhorbitant--111 to
be exact---number of new federal government bureaucracies. At a time in
history, where we are sill in serious recession, the entire focus of the
Administration and Congress for one year, has been to force through a
convoluted, unread bill of which the plurality of Americans disapprove.
The Blair House 'summit' will accomplish little, other than brow beating a
dead horse.  The American people want jobs---now---not inefective, costly
bills that hurt small businesses. Our focus and that of Congress should be
to return our beleagured economy back to some modicum of prosperity; then
and only then can we all, as a people, begin to address the domestic
issues at hand.

Sincerely,

Chrisopher Popham Smith

DATELINE:  Reconciliation Day on HCR, U.S.A  (the near future).
Widespread protests and demonstrations in major cities across America.
Nation in turmoil over passage of health care reform bill.
People very angry that they have been ignored by Washington.
Police call for assistance from military, as protests escalate.
No deaths, but a few injuries reported so far.
White House considers curfews and martial law to control 'situation',
gambling that security forces will not join the people.

Could this happen in a 'free society' such as ours?
Many around the country see this as a distinct possibility.
I certainly hope not.
How about you Angela? Could this really happen in America?

Mr. Smith

It is our hope that cool, level heads will prevail and the voice of reason will take over in the legislature. We believe that such an occurrence is highly improbable however. Nonetheless, you paint a grave picture and it, amongst other things, compels us to work so that reconciliation will no longer be an option for the Democrats.

Best wishes, RNC Coalitions

                      Important messageHeathcare

America needs health care reform, but not in its current form of 2700
unread pages.Since last August, the plurality of American people have resoundingly refuted and rejected the mandates, dictates and excessive taxation contained in the Senate bill, not to mention the creation of 111 new federal bureaucracies to 'oversee' the law, and yesterday, we are told that the IRS will be in charge of enforcement, with the expected hiring of 12,000 or more new 'agents' to monitor small business and citizens, on a monthly basis, to ensure that they have adequate and proper health insurance.
Fines, attachment of your bank account or even imprisonment for
non-compliance.

In case you have forgotten, the IRS is part of the Treasury Dept. headed up
by a man, who 'inadvertently' cheated on tax returns. The average beginning
salary of an IRS agent G-5, is $36,500 X 12,000=$438 million.
The IRS currently employs 81,000 people.

Bi-partisan health care reform and legislation *are* needed for America, but
not like this. The American people have had quite enough of the
Administration/Congress trying to force this piece of legislation through, *
against* the will of the people.

The Washington elites have thus far wasted over one year debating a vital
domestic issue, which in my humble, should be implemented on an incremental timetable. While they were in the political process of absconding with 17% of the economy, average Americans were losing their jobs (careers), homesand life savings. The focus of Congress and the White House should have been on nothing but repairing the economy and restoring jobs.

The American people deserve nothing less.In a brief 234 years, we have become the greatest nation on earth. Our ancestors, and our forefathers and those who sacrificed in times of war, have tried to ensure that the strengths of America, and pride in her achievements, are re-enforced and emphasized for future generations. But the Washington power brokers see it differently, to the detriment of America and its people. We shall not forget this travesty of ineptitude, arrogance and corruption at the polls in November. Congress, on both sides of the aisle, will feel our wrath. Recent Rasmussen and Gallup polls have clearly indicated the mood of America.
This piece of legislation is: highly unpopular, dangerously flawed,
terrifyingly expensive and worst of all, largely unfunded.

It is one thing for the people to suffer the intransigence, arrogance and
hubris of branches of government that ignore and deny the will of the
people, but it is another issue altogether, when the Constitution is
circumvented at every turn. The 21st Century American Revolution is at hand.
Our founding documents are being ignored, usurped and shredded.
It is time to take a stand for the United States of America, for we are on
the precipice of economic disaster. This is not 'debatable'. We are talking
about the fiscal health of our country. If you have not already done so,
take five minutes out of your busy day and email or phone your House
representative today and inform him/her that enough is enough; that in
November, we shall not forget the perilous position in which they have
placed our nation, while refusing to acknowledge the voice and will of
the majority of American citizens.

Regardless of his motives, yesterday I emailed my Congressman, Steven Lynch, and thanked him for deciding to change his vote on health care to NO.
Respectfully,
Christopher Popham Smith.

The New Boston Tea Party
Boston, Massachusetts.

  Dateline  April 14th, 2010

Where do I begin?  Well, the radio talk shows are calling it a "day in history".
Less than a mile from Boston Harbor, scene of the original Tea Party, on the famous Boston Common, roughly 5000 people assembled on a perfect spring day to vent and listen to multiple speakers talk of the Constitution, liberty, freedom from excessive taxation, but most importantly, their disagreements
with the agendas of the current Administration and Congress. The crowd was peaceful, polite and as with most Tea Party gatherings, well behaved. There were a few pro-Obama 'protesters', but they were appropriately ignored.....a few college kids, still mesmerized and intoxicated (I guess) with the phony rhetoric to which we are subjected every day from the elites in Washington.

And then, and then(!) at 10:41, three large black SUV's delivered the so-called voice of the Tea Party movement, the ever entertaining Sarah Palin.  I did hear that she was wearing a red leather jacket.  But there was a problem or two. Most of the audience could not see her or hear her, once she was introduced; that is unless you were in the first 10 semi-circle rows around the stage!
That's because the stage was not high enough for her to be visible. Twenty-five or more major network and cable news camera crews blocked any clear shot of her. And the sound system was very poor; so most people could not see her or hear all of her remarks. To my mind, it was a fiasco. Notwithstanding, people were (I guess) glad to be in the sunshine and at least making their handmade
signs and voices heard. I spoke with about twenty folks, many of whom have never taken part in any politically charged demonstrations, but all agreed that the direction in which America is being taken, requires that we all step up to the plate, here and now, to slow down, bridle or even stop this federal
government from taking us over the proverbial cliff.

There were signs from gay pride to saving the Constitution to "Why would you vote for Barney again?". There were vendors of all kinds, selling hot dogs, Tea Party buttons and flags. It was more of a carnival atmosphere; people enjoying their like-minded, kindred, verbal exchanges and the freedom to speak out
amongst themselves, as they expressed fear and distrust of the Administration and Congress. It was good to be part of such a gathering. One year ago, there were only a couple of hundred people at the first Tea Party rally. Though only 26% of Americans currently claim to be Tea Partiers, the movement has caught on and if nothing else, will help us all to REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER.

One final observation. Personally, I do not see or feel the hype about Sarah Palin. The crowd might have been rooting for her, but to my mind she doesn't really represent the full scope of the Tea Party agenda,
and even that is not entirely clear. Sarah Palin has her own agenda, which includes exciting and inciting the conservative fellowship, but realistically......Sarah Palin is serving herself, her goals, whatever they
might be, and her notoriety and apparent popularity. But somehow folks, that's not enough for me to consider this lady as a potential candidate for President. There's something just too theatrical about her. After all, in just a few months, she has raked in $12 million, including a $7 million advance on a book,
$100,000 per speaking engagement and so much more. I'm just going to wait and see. That's all for now folks....."you betcha".
