Virginia, District 5
Democratic freshman Congressman Tom Perriello is running for reelection in Virginia’s 5th district. He faces competition from Republicans Bradley Rees and Feda Kidd Morton, a contest which will be decided on June 8th, the state’s primary date. The district leans moderately Republican according to the Cook Report, but Cook projects it as leaning Democratic at the moment, while Rothenberg calls it a toss-up. Presidential elections have traditionally gone in favor of the republicans in the district, and the 2008 house race won by Congressman Perriello was extremely close. The seat should be winnable.
